Robert C. Kime III, M.D

Dr. Kime is one of two local orthopaedic physicians who routinely operate on the neck and lower back.  In addition to General Orthopaedics,  Dr. Kime performs spinal surgery for all of the common and complex problems people may have with their spines.  Dr. Kime also performs many general orthopaedic procedures (as his schedule allows) on his established patients. 

 

 

 

 

Kent Smillie, MD

Dr. Smillie is the only Board Certified and Fellowship Trained Sports Medicine Physician in Harrisonburg and Rockingham County.  He also practices general orthopaedics. He completed both a sports medicine fellowship and an arthroscopy fellowship at the University of Massachusetts.  He participated in the team physicians duties for the Boston Red Sox organization and Worcester Ice Cats.  Dr. Smillie is the Medical Director for Bridgewater College Athletics for the 2011-12 season and provides sports medicine care for other local university and high school athletes.  Dr. Smillie was the team physician for the Harrisonburg Turks for the 2011 season this summer.  In his spare time, he enjoys flying, hiking, sailing, skiing, mountain biking, weight lifting and shooting sports

 

James R. Schwartz, M.D.

Although Dr. Schwartz is also a Board Certified general orthopaedist and spine surgeon,  he elects to focus on an office-based practice.  Dr. Schwartz guides pre-operative and operative-preventative back care for patients.  He is also certified to perform legal evaluations, Independent Medical Exams, second opinions and disability evaluations. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Ryan H. Fitzgerald, DPM

Dr. Fitzgerald is a podiatric surgeon with extensive training in elective and reconstructive surgery of the foot and ankle.  His expertise includes minimal incision arthroscopic surgery, pediatrics, diabetic foot care, and lower extremity wound care and limb salvage.  Dr. Fitzgerald is a graduate of the Barry University School of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery in Miami Shores, Fl. He completed his residency at Washington Hospital Center in Washington, D.C..  In his spare time, Dr. Fitzgerald enjoys flying, hiking, sailing and snowboarding.

 

 

 

Sarah Fitzgerald, DPM  

Dr. Sarah Fitzgerald especially enjoys caring for the senior population.  She cares for patients in several local nursing homes and assisted living facilities.  In addition, she treats patients in our Wound Care Center.  This  clinic is designed to give care to people with difficult Wound Management from Diabetes and patients with Stasis Ulcers of the lower legs.
