Robert C. Kime III, MD
                              Orthopaedic Surgeon

 

 Dr. Kime treats a wide variety of general orthopaedic problems; however, he focuses primarily on problems of the neck and back.      His expertise includes minimal-incicision endoscopic disc surgery as well as major spine surgeries with instrumentation.       Dr. Kime is a graduate of Duke University School of Medicine, is Board Certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery   and a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.  Prior to entering private practice, Dr. Kime served as an orthopaedic surgeon in the U.S. Air Force, and established an expeditionary hospital during a 1998 deployment to Kuwait.     In his spare time, Dr. Kime enjoys watching Duke basketball and spending time with his family.  

 

   Kent Smillie, MD
                   Orthopaedic Surgeon

 Dr. Smillie is the only Board Certified and Fellowship Trained Sports Medicine Orthopaedic Surgeon in Harrisonburg and Rockingham County.  He also practices general orthopaedics. He completed both a sports medicine fellowship and an arthroscopy fellowship at the University of Massachusetts.  He participated in the team physicians duties for the Boston Red Sox organization and Worcester Ice Cats.  In his spare time, he enjoys flying, hiking, sailing, skiing, mountain biking, weight lifting and shooting sports. 

 

 

  
 
 
James R. Schwartz, MD, JD
                                              Orthopaedic Surgeon 

Although Dr. Schwartz is also a Board Certified general orthopaedist and spine surgeon,  he elects to focus on an office-based practice.  Dr. Schwartz guides pre-operative and operative-preventative back care for patients.  He is also certified to perform legal evaluations, Independent Medical Exams, second opinions and disability evaluations. In his free time, Dr. Schwartz enjoys spending time with his family at his farm in Mt. Crawford, Virginia.  

 

 

 

 

  Douglas Duncan, MD 
                        Orthopaedic Surgeon

Dr. Duncan is a Fellowship trained Sports specialist and Orthopedic Surgeon.  He is skilled in advanced arthroscopic and joint reconstruction techniques.   Dr. Duncan draws from pro level experience, knowledge, and technical expertise from his work with the Pistons, Red Wings, and Tigers during his fellowship year in Detroit.  He has interest  in complex shoulder, complex knee, and elbow, including joint restoration and cartilage and meniscus preservation techniques in joints.  He additionally has advanced arthroscopic techniques for the shoulder, knee, and elbow as well as the hip and ankle.   He served his country as a Naval flight surgeon and officer deployed with a Marine squadron.  He and his family enjoy medical mission work.  

 

 
 
 
  Ryan H. Fitzgerald, DPM
                                                    Podiatric Surgeon

Dr. Fitzgerald is a podiatric surgeon with extensive training in elective and reconstructive surgery of the foot and ankle.  His expertise includes minimal incision arthroscopic surgery, pediatrics, diabetic foot care, and lower extremity wound care and limb salvage.  Dr. Fitzgerald is a graduate of the Barry University School of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery in Miami Shores, Fl. He completed his residency at Washington Hospital Center in Washington, D.C..  In his spare time, Dr. Fitzgerald enjoys flying and hiking.  

 

 

 

Sarah Fitzgerald, DPM
                                  Podiatric Surgeon

Dr. Fitzgerald is a podiatric surgeon with extensive training in elective and reconstructive surgery of the foot and ankle.  Her expertise includes both the conservative and surgical management of high-risk diabetic foot conditions, lower extremity wounds, and limb preservation.  She also sees patients in several local nursing homes and assisted living facility.  Dr. Fitzgerald is a graduate of the Barry University School of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery in Miami Shores, Florida.  She completed her residency at Washington Hospital Center in Washington, DC, where she also spent time training at Georgetown University Hospital's renowned Center for Wound Healing.  In her spare time, Dr. Fitzgerald enjoys spending time with her family, horseback riding, hiking, traveling and skiing. 

 

 

                    

         Christopher Barrozo, PA-C
                                   Physician Assistant

Chris is a certified Physician Assistant who specializes in the field of Orthopaedics. He conducts physical exams, diagnoses conditions, orders and interprets tests, writes prescriptions, and performs surgical assisting for a wide variety of musculoskeletal problems. He performed his medical training in California , and had previously been practicing at a large multispecialty orthopedic group in western Colorado . He takes a personal interest in sitting down and discussing with patients their conservative and surgical treatment options for their orthopedic issues.  In his spare time, he enjoys a variety of outdoor activities with his family including: backpacking, kayaking, cycling, swimming, and shooting sports.
